Informed by the teachings of the Burmese monk Sayadaw U Tejaniya\, with whom the teachers have studied\, our practice emphasizes a relaxed\, natural awareness. We are invited to cultivate an attitude of openness\, curiosity\, and ease that can meet each moment just as it is. Rather than striving to achieve special states\, we will cultivate a steady\, spacious awareness in the midst of nature’s rhythms. Meditation will unfold in all postures – sitting\, walking\, resting\, and being with the land – allowing awareness to flow as naturally as the season’s renewal. Together\, we’ll explore how to: Develop a relaxed\, continuous mindfulness supported by the natural worldRecognize the quality of mind with gentle interest\, not pressureLet go of striving and rest into awareness itselfAllow nature to be both teacher and companion in practiceThis retreat offers a rare opportunity to deepen practice in a setting that mirrors the teachings: vast\, spacious\, and alive. Come prepared for silence\, simplicity\, and the nourishment of being fully present with yourself\, with others\, and with the unfolding of spring in the Rockies.Weather permitting\, we will be sitting outside in cool spring temperatures. Early morning\, when it is coldest\, sitting outside is optional\, as you can also opt to sit indoors in the meditation hall. Later in the morning we might sit outside as a group in temperatures ranging from the high 30s to 60s. \n \n \n \n Retreat Details \n \n \n \n This retreat is designed for those seeking to deepen their mindfulness practice while resting in the wisdom of nature. Retreatants are expected to attend the full retreat and to be in silence during the retreat. Throughout the retreat\, we will alternate between sitting and walking meditation. We will take full advantage of the crisp\, cool mountain air as weather permits\, engaging in outdoor practice to connect directly with the natural world. The grounding of our meditation will be complemented by time spent in the cozy warmth of the retreat lodge\, where we can recharge and warm up.This retreat is ideal for anyone interested in mindfulness / vipassana meditation\, all are welcome. The days will unfold with the gentle rhythm of practice\, allowing for meditation periods\, walking in nature\, guided meditations\, dharma talks\, and meetings with the teachers to explore the deepening of your practice. Whether outdoors or in the comfort of the lodge\, the retreat will offer a balance of stillness\, nature\, and compassionate guidance\, creating an atmosphere of renewal and gentle interest. \n \n \n \n Registration \n \n \n \n Registration goes through the Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Retreat Center.  Contact info: retreats@brightdharma.org \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Information and registration\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n	Categories:	\n Insight Meditation Retreat\, Outdoor Retreat\, Retreat	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	Website:	\n	www.rmerc.org\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	Organizer\n	Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Retreat Center\n	\n	View Organizer Website \n\n\n	\n	Email:\n \n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	Rocky Mountain Ecodarma Retreat Center\n	\n	\n\n8941 Overland Rd\n	\n \n Ward\,\n\n	CO\n\n	80481\n\n	United States\n\n\n\n\n	+ Google Map \n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n\n	\n	View Venue Website \n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n \n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n\n	\n	Add to calendar	\n \n	\n\n \n \n \n	Google Calendar\n\n \n	iCalendar\n\n \n	Outlook 365\n\n \n	Outlook Live\n\n \n \n\n \n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n\n Awake and at Ease: A City Retreat (in VA and online)	\n\n\n \n	\n Being Free in the Flow of Life: An Outdoor Insight Retreat
